What's the best way to store my Flag?

  • Make sure the flag is dry before storing it.

  • Indoor Flags should be carefully wrapped and either placed in a flag case or wrapped in protective plastic, then stored in a cool, dry, dark place.

  • Your Flag can be machine washed but to keep it looking its best, hand wash it in water and a mild detergent or Woolite. Once cleaned, remove it from the wash. Never allow your Flag to soak or you may experience bleeding from one color into the next. Remember to dry it out completely in a warm open area but for best results, have your Flag dry cleaned.

  • Rips and tears on your Flag can be repaired using sew-on or iron-on patches that match the color and texture of the Flag. Iron-on patches can be purchased in any Fabric store the or Fabric department of any major department store.

  • Your flag works hard. It shakes...it trembles... it drapes. . . it whips... it snaps... it chafes.. it bakes. it freezes.., it ripples.., it flutters.., it quivers.. it furls.. it rolls... it twists. it flaps. it strains.. it flies.., it unfurls. . it hangs! Is it any wonder that it needs to be replaced two or three times a year.

  • If you can, provide cover for your Flag. Exposure to rain, snow or high winds damage the fabric and integrity of your Flag. Allow a wet Flag to dry completely in an open area before storing but remember not to drape it on the ground.

  • Don’t fly your flag where it can be damaged by everyday obstructions such as directly up against the house, near trees, power lines or cables.
